Latton Lock lower gates repaired, efficient catch pool at Capel’s bridge, wall at Inglesham reduced, temporary clack door at the Engine taken out, cutting in Mr Gordon’s meadow resumed,
Griffin’s Bridge, no estimate yet for the cast iron from Mr Ferrabee. Bridge stands where railway expected to cross canal, so good to risk present structure remaining for now.
Mr Parker wants to use small boats to deliver salt to Newbury in competition with barges via the Kennet & Avon Canal.
