Summary

Projected railroad from Cheltenham to Swindon. Mr Brunel’s opinion re Canal and Tunnel. “The space occupied by the Canal would not be so advantageous as any other and that the tunnel is by no means calculated for the purpose of the railroad”.
The cutting in Mr Gordon’s meadow is proceeding, the Engine continues at about the same speed. Chivers the Engine man is concerned about the Beam. Mr Ferrabee has made an excellent job of the lamps – the light is astonishingly great.
