Late alteration in prices of Staffordshire and Somersetshire coal. Battle previously between Staffordshire coal brought via Oxford Canal to Abingdon, then along Wilts & Berks to Wantage and that brought through this canal. Somersetshire coal will not compete. Setting of tonnage, effect on Forest of Dean trade.
Mr Jones’ communication re Engine man. His letter re problems with readiness of Engine to start work.
