Coal quality of Mr Williams is good for blacksmiths but ill suited for house keepers, there being no mediun sized coal. Very best quality needs to be at Lechlade.
Loss to this canal in the conveyance of stone through it by the abolition of the coastwise duty has no reference whatever to stone the produce of the quarries in this neighbourhood, but to that shipped at Bullo Pill and Lydney, the produce of the Forest of Dean.
