From John R Denyer
To Mr Joseph Jeffery
Lechlade
Have sent 29t 10c of Mr Barker’s Coal and have written to Mr Crouch to that effect that the water level wouldn’t allow the boat to carry any more.
I cannot allow you to create a copper in the salt warehouse. The place now used as a counting house was expressly built as a wash house & brewhouse and there are places left for coppers on each side of the fireplace. The room intended for an office is up the steps over the salt warehouse.
