Summary

Committee regretted not having your company regarding last week’s survey of the canal. Now awaiting amount of your estimate to enable the filling up of the first question of the Exchequer Loan Commissioners. Committee have told me to go to London to accompany you to the Commissioners in obtaining the grant.
Watson is getting on with removing the clay to be ready to start puddling in about a month. Notice required to prevent the men being unemployed.
Herewith a sketch of an idea suggested of putting an air or water drain to prevent blowing the puddle – any method prepared to be adopted.
